Are you wondering how to enjoy an epic lake house vacation? Whether you prefer spending time with your family, meeting new people, or going on solo adventures, you have many options.
Lake houses can be secluded or close to everything. Either way, it’s a fantastic time for your family or a group of friends. Great lake views and many opportunities for outdoor activities or relaxing.
To get the most out of your vacation, check out our list of activities below!
4 Activities For Your Epic Lake House Vacation
1. Go Canoeing, Paddle Boarding or Kayaking
Paddle boards and kayaks are excellent activities to get close to the water and nature. Paddling around the lake is a beneficial exercise. When participating in these water sports, you should be extra careful. Water safety is always essential, especially when combined with vacation libations! Have fun but be responsible. Enough of the PSA’s!
Are you interested in fishing? If so, it’s an excellent opportunity for you and your kids to interact. Fishing may also be a fun way to educate your children on valuable life skills, like telling the truth about the size of the fish they caught, while also connecting with nature.
You can also rent a boat for the day and spend some time out on the lake looking for the perfect fishing spot. Before you put a worm on the hook and cast it in, make sure you check Tennessee’s licensing regulations. Depending on where you fish, you may or may not need a weekend license. Kids under the age of 12 don’t need a license, and anyone 13 and over does, generally. There are some exceptions, though, so click here for those.
A weekend at a lake house is a great time to get in 18 holes. Tellico Lake has several golf courses all around the lake. All have great views, and green fees are reasonable. Dust off the sticks and shoot the course record! Or drive around in the cart and enjoy yourself. Either way!
4. Rent a Jet Ski or boat
It’s an excellent way to get out of the water and take in the surroundings, and you can even listen to music while you’re out on the lake! If your lake house does not include a boat, you can rent one for the duration of your stay. Boat rental companies can gladly deliver a boat or jet ski to a local boat launch.
