In Tellico Village, the Tellico Community Playhouse is more than a small-town theater—it’s where stories come alive, friendships are made, and creativity happens. From laugh-out-loud comedies to heartfelt dramas, this community-run Playhouse offers high-quality shows that keep you coming back for more. Whether you want to see a show, volunteer behind the scenes, or support local arts, the Playhouse is always buzzing with energy.
A Little History
Every great theater has a story, and the Tellico Community Playhouse is no different. What started as a small group passionate about acting and theater has become a thriving arts hub that entertains and inspires.
- The first production was “Dirty Work Afoot” in 1990 at the Tellico Village Yacht Club.
- New home: In 2014, the playhouses moved into its building at 304 Lakeside Plaza.
- Significant milestone: Celebrated its 100th show, Dixie Swim Club, in 2018.
What makes this theater special isn’t just the shows—it’s the people. Every actor, stagehand, and usher is a volunteer who gives their time to bring each production to life.

Supporting Local Theater
The Tellico Community Playhouse is a non-profit, which means ticket sales, donations, and sponsorships fund every show, upgrade, and program. If you want to help keep community theater alive, here are a few ways you can contribute:
- Donate – Every dollar helps!
- Sponsor a show – Businesses can support productions in exchange for advertising.
- Buy an ad – Get your name in the playbill and support the arts.
- Attend a performance – The best way to support the theater is to fill the seats!
