Location and People
You’ll find them at 210 Chota Rd in Loudon, TN 37774. They have a crew of 36 volunteers on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They’re a talented bunch with:
- 14 folks with an EMT license – they save lives
- 22 First Responders – highly trained to get to the scene fast
These are good people who care deeply about keeping everyone in Tellico Village safe.
Response Times and What We Do
In 2023, they asked for help with a staggering property issue. That’s a testament to the commitment and speed of their response team. While the national average is 8-10 minutes, our average response time is just 4 minutes. That makes all the difference in emergencies. As a result, lives are saved, and property is protected.
Funding – We Need Your Support
The fire department is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, which means it is tax-exempt. They get support from:
- Grants – always on the lookout for these
- Community donations – it’s incredible how much people care
They don’t get a penny from the local council budget and don’t charge for their services either. Instead, they rely on donations and grants. They have earned an Insurance Services Institute rating of 4 out of 10 for their services, which puts them above 80% of similar departments. That’s helped keep home insurance premiums down, a big plus for residents.
Of course, that means they could always use more volunteers to help keep the community safe.
