1. Davis Ferry Branch

Stretching over 7 miles, the Davis Ferry Branch offers an extensive network of trails for all skill levels. This trail runs two miles north from the Glendale Trailhead to the WindRiver (formerly Rarity Pointe) Golf Course, the current northern terminus of the East Lakeshore Trail. 

The area also features gorgeous views of Tellico Lake and provides access to several scenic vantage points. If you like going on hikes with your furry friend, it’s good to bring them here. Just make sure they’re on a leash to avoid a tongue-lashing from the puppy police!

2. Coytee Loop Branch

The Coytee Loop Branch is a self-guided interpretive loop trail near Greenback, TN. It features eight learning stations along the path and is approximately 2.4 miles long. The trail is accessible for persons of all skill levels. Pets are also permitted but must be on a leash.

3. Sinking Creek Branch

The Sinking Creek Branch, located near Coytee Trailhead, is a beautiful walk through the woods. The trail runs 4.5 miles south with many bridges and benches, including an 85-foot steel and concrete bridge built by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in 2011. Hiking is easy to moderate and accessible year-round.

4. Lotterdale Branch

Lotterdale Branch is one of our recommended hiking trails in WindRiver. This trail runs 3.8 miles south from the Sinking Creek Trailhead to the Lotterdale Campground entry road. 

The route runs beside East Coast Tellico Parkway in places. The difficulty level is simple to moderate.

5. Jackson Bend Branch

Jackson Bend Branch is also a popular hiking trail in WindRiver. This branch features a diversity of landscapes, magnificent views, and a 200-foot climb. You can reach the East Lakeshore Route via a 1/4 mile connecting trail that leads to a map kiosk at the campsite gate.

6. Baker Hollow Branch

Baker Hollow Branch is a local favorite, and for a good reason. It’s a great hike for people of all skill levels, whether you’re looking to put in a couple of hours or want to spend the day. This 6.5-mile trail is dog-friendly, but your furry kids must be on a leash.
