4 Fort Loudon State Park Weekend Activities You Should Not Miss
1. Paddling
There is no boat ramp at the park, but you can use the kayak launch if you bring your paddle craft. If you enjoy the water, don’t pass up this opportunity to experience nature at its finest on Tellico Lake. Get on the lake while listening to nature’s music and admiring the scenery.

Rates:
- Kayak: $20 for 3 hours, plus $8 for each additional hour
- Kayak: Tandem: $33 for 3 hours, plus $11 per hour
- Paddleboard: $20 for 3 hours and then $8 every hour
2. Hiking
As you walk through the park, listen to the birds chirping, the wind whistling through the trees, and the leaves crunching under your feet. All hikers will find a moderate hiking trail in the park. The park’s 5-mile trail includes the Ridge Top Trail Loop, Meadow Loop, Lost Shoe Loop, and River Gate Trail. Find more information by clicking here.
3. Fishing
The park’s proximity to Tellico Lake makes it a popular fishing destination. People here enjoy fishing for bass, catfish, and other species of fish. There is a fishing pier, but you can also use the bank for fishing.
4. Birding
If you like birds, you’ll be glad to know that there are some spectacular migratory birds here. The fields of native grasses provide an ideal habitat for birds. You will find quail and other open land birds. Do not forget to get your camera to capture the view!
